The Stars Are Right…

For what has seemed like eons the H.P. Lovecraft Mythos Book Club & Reading Group has laid dreaming… At long last the stars are right and we awaken from our slumber to once again plague humanity with cosmic horror. This September (2014) we will once again explore the darkest corners of the earth thanks to our new friends at the Massillon Public Library.

Every month we will read and discuss a selected short story from the works of H.P. Lovecraft. In addition to reading his work we will explore many different facets of Lovecraft’s life and his lasting influence on the literature and popular culture of today. We will also go beyond the written page and watch documentaries like Fear of the Unknown and other films based on his work such as the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society’s silent film masterpiece, The Call of Cthulhu.

Delving deeper into the mythos we will discover the Secrets of the Necronomicon, explore the landscape of Lovecraft Country and even learn about real life occult teachings based on his work. For our more creative members we will also be writing and publishing an eBook of short stories based on the Lovecraft mythos.

The H.P. Lovecraft Mythos Book Club & Reading Group is 100% FREE and open to anyone ages 16 years or older. For more information feel free to contact the Massillon Public Library or email me personally at… clinthulhu@hotmail.com

I hope to see you at our next meeting on September 3rd 2014 at 6:00 P.M.
